Thank you for your interest in the ’48 Hours in Kaikōura’ photography competition.
We are thrilled to announce that the “48 Hours in Kaikoura” photography competition is back this year with an update. This year, we offer all participants free entry, making it more accessible than ever. However, the prizes will be limited due to a shortage of volunteers to help organize the event.
As we continue to navigate these challenges, we remain committed to developing and expanding the event in the future. Our vision includes growing the photography competition and incorporating a film festival, creating a dynamic and comprehensive celebration of visual arts.
This year, we are continuing with the digital-only format, which means all processes, from entry submissions to judging and exhibition, will be conducted online. Participants can submit their entries through our online platform, ensuring a seamless and efficient submission process.
We will also introduce a public voting system this year. Viewers can vote for their favourite photographs online, adding an interactive and engaging element to the competition.
The online exhibition of photographs will provide an engaging experience for both participants and viewers.
While we face unique challenges again this year, we are confident that the digital format will enable us to continue growing the event. We aim to reintroduce a print exhibition and expand the competition as we move forward.
We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to Neroli Gold for her dedicated efforts in nurturing this event over the past 20 years. Her legacy continues to inspire us as we embark on this new chapter.
